sports performance

As we age, our training must adapt to reflect biological realities. Using the latest research, we focus on enhancing your sports abilities in your 40s and beyond. The key is to personalize training plans with advanced recovery methods.

One of the most important concepts for masters athletes is minimum effective volume. Sport performance often requires finding the most sustainable program that delivers maximum results. This is a challenge for highly-driven individuals used to pushing their bodies.

Athletes learn the art of less through data-driven insights. We rely upon objective and subjective data to adjust programming for each individual. This includes:

• Rate of Perceived Exertion

  • Estimated 1 Rep Max

• Percentage-Based Training

• Total Training Volume

• Readiness Scores

• Heart Rate Variability

powerlifting

As the sport has exploded in popularity, so too has the amount of information available. We focus on filtering through the noise to develop personalized training programs, whether you’re a beginner or an elite lifter.

A big part of personalized programming is solving specific challenges based on your training status and goals. If you're lifting primarily for fun or mental health, it's a good idea to balance training with a variety of movements. Decisions about lifting heavy will depend on how you feel on a given day.

Your program will look different if you are competing. Your coach will base decisions about sumo deadlifting, for example, on your specific body type and leverages.

Modern powerlifting coaching also takes into account nutrition, recovery, and mobility. Specific vitamins and minerals improve your preparedness for each session, while improving your balance can eliminate power leaks.

barbell lifts

Barbell exercises are core to performance and general fitness. They are compound lifts, so each movements works multiple joints and angles. That makes them effecient and effective for strengthening muscles, ligaments, and even bones.

Our approach teaches you the best way to balance exercise with lifting and aerobic fitness. Coaching emphasizes the squat, deadlift, overhead press, and bench press along with progressions.

As you gain confidence and mastery, coaches introduce more advanced movements and topics. This includes narrow grip bench, a good balance of mixed grip and overhand grip, and plenty of core work.

Beginner training also delves into the basics of eating to fuel performance, and some tips for eating enough protein to get the most of your workouts.
